Frederiksen said that what she called “a great agreement” for all three parties “recognizes the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom and the Greenlandic people’s right to self-determination”.
Nielsen said it was “joyous” that the agreement “ensures and strengthens the security of Greenland, the Kingdom of Denmark, the United States and the Western Alliance”, suggesting that the deal might possibly just reiterate the existing US rights through Nato to use the island as a security base.
Once agreed to, the pact would need to go through parliamentary procedures to be enacted, the Danish and Greenlandic statements said.
So this is better for all 3 territories, where the US spends more on NATO-related US base in Greenland, investing in that economy, while Greenland and Denmark benefit financially and militarily from the US military presence.
In my view, the US should close some of its numerous bases, and certainly doesn't need to invest in its base in Greenland. There's literally no need for it, and the US is $40 TRILLION in debt. Cut the military bases, ffs. Remember Republican conservatism? Would be nice to return to it.

I see Trump and right wing media claiming they now 'control' Greenland, but that's not what was agreed. Basically, "The agreement would allow the US to expand its military presence, while Denmark and Greenland say it preserves their sovereignty and right to self-determination"
